Sabyasachi Collaborates with H&M

Sabyasachi collaborates with H&M for a mainstream fashion line coming to stores April 2020! The fashion and jewelry company founded by Sabyasachi Mukherjee is well-known for its bridal designs worn by Bollywood celebs and global elite. This collaboration will hopefully make this designer accessible for us less affluent fans.

“I am happy to announce the collaboration with H&M, as it gives us the opportunity to spread the Sabyasachi aesthetic to a wider audience in India and worldwide. Having done couture for the majority of my career, it is very exciting to bring that finesse of craft to ‘ready-to-wear’ and create whimsical and fluid silhouettes that bring relaxed sophistication to everyday life,” said Mukherjee.

The collection is said to mix “modern and traditional silhouettes with a nod towards athleisure and glamping,” according to the press release, and will incorporate Indian textiles and prints.

The collection will launch at H&M stores across India and some flagships around the world. Additionally, the clothing line will be online at H&M’s website and Myntra, the digital fashion retailer owned by Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart.

Sabyasachi’s Global Collabs

This is not Sabyasachi’s first fusion fashion collaboration. Sabyasachi has previously worked with brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Pottery Barn, Balmain and Versace. The designer even workined with the French shoe label Christian Louboutin last year celebrating 20 years of Sabyasachi.

H&M released its first designer collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004. Since then, there has been a series of projects with top European designers. Working with Sabyasachi leads me to believe there’s growth strategy in India.

I am so excited for this collection! I’m hoping to snag a couple pieces.
