Masala Egg by Maneet Chauhan

Masala Egg by Maneet Chauhan…if you enjoy Indian street food, this may be familiar, if you’re like me, this is a new discovery – I had to try it. The recipe is simple, quick, and flavorful.

My eggs tend to be simple and friend. My husband likes cooked onions, tomato, and green chilies then salt and red chili powder to taste. This masala egg recipe is very flavorful. Personally, it is a bit strong first thing in the morning for me, but a stunning brunch/lunch option.

Aptly titled, “Spice Up Your Omelette y’all,” Maneet take us step by step through the recipe. I followed along quite easily, just ensure your ingredients are handy. You will need:

  • Ghee/Oil
  • Eggs
  • Onion
  • Tomato (optional)
  • Chili (optional)
  • Cumin seeds
  • Cilantro
  • Salt
  • Red chili powder
  • Turmeric
  • Garam masala
  • Cheese (optional)

While there are no exact measurements, if you are familiar with South Asian cuisine, eyeballing pinches and dashes of the spices should feel comfortable. If not. My suggestion is to start moderately and you can always add additional spices and sauces later.
